マレ地区を歩く
今回はマレ地区をぶらぶらする。マレ地区は狭い路地が古い建物に挟まれ、洒落たバーが立ち並ぶなかなかいかした一角である。
Hotel de Villeでメトロを降り、マレ地区へ向かって細い路地を歩いていく。このあたりは新進のデザイナーが多く店を出しているところらしく、所々に小物や服飾店が見受けられる。路地は車一台が通れるほどの幅で、両側には古い建物（低層マンションのようなやつ）が立ち並んでいる。昨日夜に訪れたときは、街頭にさらされた建物がなんともロマンティックであったが、昼間見ても普通に何百年も前の建物が立ち並ぶ通りを歩くと非常に雰囲気がある。
しばらくいろんな店を冷やかしながら歩き、ファラフェルというものを食らう。ファラフェルとはおそらくイスラエルかどこかの料理である。マレ地区の東側であるが、このあたりはユダヤ人居住区とのことだった。一番売れている店でノーマルファラフェルと人参ジュースをいただく。ファラフェルの説明をもう少しすると、ピタパンの中にキャベツやらトマトやら野菜を細かく切ったものをこれでもか、と詰め込め、さらにボール状のコロッケのようなものをいくつか詰めてソースをかけたものである。主食とまではいかないが、おやつには十分過ぎるボリューム。味は形容しがたいが可もなく不可もなくという感じ。一緒に飲んだ人参ジュースも非常に味が濃く、砂糖をぶち込んだかのように甘かった。
さて、大体ぶらぶらしてすることがなくなったので、ピカソ美術館へと足を伸ばす。ピカソを中心にセザンヌなどの絵画や彫刻が3000点ほどある。ほとんどがピカソの絵であるが。ピカソは初期は風景画なども書いているが、後期の作品ははっきり言ってちんぷんかんぷんである。これを書け、といわれて書けないのは確かだが、書けたら何なんだよぉ、と開き直りたくなる感じ。「ギターを弾いている男」と「マンドリンを弾いている男」のどこが違うのか俺にはわからなかった。その前に、その絵が人間に見えなかったのだが…。ここの絵の題名の札を適当に入れ替えても、はっきり言って誰も気づかないだろう、と確信を持ってしまった。
その後、豪雨が振り出したので、マレ地区のバーへ避難。このあたりはゲイが多くて、一人で店に入ると相手を探していると勘違いされるらしい。確かに顔を近づけあってほほえましく談笑する男男がいたりするので、そういう店ははずす。1時間ほどビールとワインを飲んでいると雨がおさまったので、帰路に着いた。

こんにちは??
最近メールやインターネット掲示板や印刷物などでよく見かけるのだが、「こんにちは」の綴りを「こんにちわ」と書く人。
近年つとに増えてきたように感じる。わざとやっているのだろうか？俺としては非常に気になるし、違和感を感じる。
もともと、「こんにちは」の語源は、「こんにちはご機嫌いかがですか？」のような文章を略したものと考えられる。それから考えても「こんにちわ」はいただけない。非常に気持ち悪い。
でも、こうやって日本語が変わっていくのだろうか？50年後くらいには「昔は『こんにちは』と書いた」などと辞書に載っているかもしれない。

バリカタ
銀座の一風堂に行った。福岡から出店しているラーメン屋である。この店ではラーメンを注文するとき、麺の硬さを聞かれる。
そこで言われるのが「バリカタ」。福岡の言葉で「バリ（めちゃくちゃ）」硬い、という意味である。福岡出身の俺が福岡で注文するときは特に違和感はないのだが、今日はなんとなく違和感を感じた。うまく説明できないが、関西以外のものが無理やり関西弁をしゃべっているのを聞くと、イントネーションなんかが微妙に違って、聞いている俺が非常に恥ずかしい気分になる。それと似たような感覚。関西ネイティブの人ならこの気持ちわかってくれるだろう。
そもそも、「バリカタ」という言葉を福岡の人間が皆使っているかというと、それほどでもない気もする。普通に「硬い麺」とか「超硬麺」とか言っている人も見かける。「バリカタ」自体、比較的新しい言葉なのでは？俺が幼少のころはそのような言葉は使わなかった気がする（博多では昔から使われていたのかも知れんが…）。一風堂では一番硬い麺を「コナオトシ」と紹介しているようであるが、それもどれだけ一般的か？同じような硬さの表現でも「針金」とか「生」とかいっぱいあるのである。
今回、東京もんがあえて福岡弁（っぽい言葉）を使っている場面で似たような恥ずかしさを感じたわけである。福岡から出店している店なので、そういう言葉を使ったりして個性を出しているのだろうが。
